Someday, we will stop burning fossil fuels. And someday, giant vacuum cleaners will suck carbon dioxide back out of the sky. In the meantime, we need to cool the planet.

Due to high demand, the deadline for Interactive Presentation abstracts and Round Table proposals has been extended to 14 February 2026.

The International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) Planetary Sunshade Workshop, held in the beautiful setting of the University of Nottingham, will bring together leading engineers, scientists, and policy experts to advance the emerging field of planetary sunshades.
