Yuri’s Night was out of this world

We had a blast at the Yuri's Night space party at the California Science Center! We handed out tons of stickers, and many folks signed up for our mailing list. So many awesome connections!

We found that when you tell someone you're trying to stop climate change with a space project, they get very interested very quickly. Several people had heard of the idea, but weren't aware that anyone was working on it.

Planetary Sunshade Foundation team members at our table.

The level of technical expertise among the Yuri's Night guests was very high! When people already know what Lagrange points are, understand solar sailing, and can quote current and forecasted cost-of-launch numbers, you know it's a plugged in crowd. The level of questions we were asked was super insightful, and this sort of engagement makes the project better.

We definitely couldn't have done it without the help of our volunteers-- we'd like to give thanks and appreciation to everyone who showed up and made this event possible! You know who you are, and we couldn't be more grateful. Thanks a lot, folks!

The Sunshade crew. Note the demo sunshade hanging over our heads - it made a very helpful referece.

To all our new members and supporters, welcome - let's develop the planetary sunshade together! If you aren't yet a member, please join and help us grow this campaign.
